Since 2007 Paton Publishing creates the YTV Whoa! e-zine, an online magazine that will continue to provide Canadian tweens with the entertainment editorial they have come to love but in a new clickable format! The e-zine is a replica of the print version with added audio and video features on each page. Tweens can link directly to fan sites and programming clips and watch the latest movie trailers, plus be the first to hear the new Nuky-D track off the Big Fun Party Mix 8 and much more…
“We are always looking at new ways to get kids to read. Given that computers are such a big part of tweens’ lives, it made sense to offer an electronic version of our magazine,” says Anne Lovegrove, Vice President and Associate Publisher at Paton Publishing.
In addition to the 250,000 printed copies of each issue that are distributed, the YTV Whoa! e-zine will be sent electronically to 130,000 YTV.com subscribers, aged 8 to12. Advertisers such as Hasbro, Kellogg’s, Parmalat, Crayola, Warner Bros., Alliance Atlantis, Nintendo, Disney, Wonder Bread, Nickelodeon and Viz Media are enjoying the extended reach that our e-zine offers in addition to the printed circulation.
YTV Whoa! is a colourful, off-beat entertainment magazine for kids aged 8 to 12, offering stories, games and information on all the things tweens care about: from movies and TV, to new products and celebrity gossip. The magazine and e-zine are created in partnership by Paton Publishing and YTV. YTV Whoa! is published four times a year, with 250,000 CCAB-audited copies per issue distributed primarily through Pizza Hut restaurants across Canada, and 130,000 copies sent out electronically to YTV.com subscribers. Whao!, the French version of YTV Whoa! is also published four times a year with 75,000 CCAB-audited copies per issue distributed.
