Featuring weekly, mouth-watering recipes, fun craft projects, exciting contests, plus the latest news in health, travel, and finance, the website will span all areas of family life. At its heart, whatsupfamilies.com is dedicated to helping moms spend less time on the things they have to do, and more quality time on the things they want to do.

“For a website with so much technical wizardry under the hood, the concept behind whatsupfamilies.com couldn’t be simpler,” says Paul Baswick, Editor of What’s UP Magazine and father of two kids. “We want to give digital moms and dads something they can use, and we want to do it every day.”

ComScore data supports that the highest category of the Canadian population engaged online are females, age 35-49. Females spend an average of one and a half hours on community sites per month (up 35% from last year) in seek of everything from parenting advice to make-up and fashion tips. But that doesn’t mean we’re excluding the dads…

At whatsupfamilies.com, every parent is invited to join in and share what’s on their mind. “They can rave or rant about the latest children’s books and family movies, or spill their guts about the secret ingredients in their great grandma’s spaghetti sauce,” says Baswick. They can even stay connected while on the go with Twitter (@whatsupfamilies) and Facebook for the latest updates on whatsupfamilies.com and other exclusive news.

Parents are also invited to watch informative lifestyle videos on What’s UP Web TV spanning several dedicated channels, including Crafts, Cooking, Travel & Attractions, Health & Home, Education, and more.

“What’s UP Web TV offers family-friendly products and services in high impact videos,” says What’s UP Publisher Beverley Paton. “Each week parents can log on to see something new and relevant to their needs—whether it’s rainy day arts activities from Elmer’s, enriched education tips from Oxford or better rest solutions from Simmons.”

“This is exciting for us,” continues Paton, “as we now reach the family in a true multimedia, multi-platform approach. We’re giving our readers access to videos, articles, special offers, expert advice, and ongoing opportunities to win exceptional prizes.”

Right now those prizes include a $1,000 spa package in the Everything a Mom Could Ask For contest; a Wii for the family in the Fun Family Awards contest; and coming this Father’s Day, dads will have their chance to win big too!

So, for parents craving snappy solutions for around the home, chances to win great prizes, or just some relaxed conversation with other parents across Canada, whatsupfamilies.com is the new place to be!
